Freelance photographer with over ten-years specialising in 360 degree virtual tours and high-definition landscape photography. Event photography is a new string to my bow, and I am enjoying the variety of shooting action in addition to still-life. One day soon, I will be moving to Chile to live in a wooden cabin with views out over a lake to a volcano in the distance.

I am a jazz/funk/soul trombonist and vocalist with a passion for the music. Having lived in the area my entire life, bar an incredible year in Japan, I have engrained myself in the musical culture of the North East. Unfortunately, I am a Newcastle United supporter as well, and my love of football is the only thing that rivals music for my affections... In my downtime I work as an English teacher at Newcastle University.

I am 50 years old and live in Newcastle.

I started NE:MM as a magazine back in August 2013 and took it online in March 2014. I have always had a passion for music, and a desire to help popularise music of the type I loved. That led me to promote as 'The Outsider' and 'Common People' until recently and who knows, the promoter bug may bite again soon. As I age I find my own tastes developing and so my enthusiasm now extends to classical, jazz/funk and metal, whereas it used to sit squarely in the pop/indie/folk box. I hope it's infectious and through the efforts of the many volunteer contributors to NE:MM I hope it helps you find new music that you can feel passionate about too.

I've always admired the classic photos of James Dean and Marilyn Monroe but I got my first real taste of photography when attending my first live concert back in 1994 with a Boots 110mm format camera seeing Eternal. My major music loves are Fleetwood Mac and the front lady Stevie Nicks but my favourite music genres are Northern Soul and Motown, though I can listen to just about anything. In terms of photography I also specialise in travel and urban landscapes, as well as music photography of course, both live and documentary.

I'm 62 but I’m not sure that’s useful to know.I worked for 37 years as an electronics/telecoms development engineer but was keen on music and photography long before that.
I’m mostly attracted to Jazz music in all of its forms, along with Blues, Greig, Messiaen, Stockhausen, Piazzolla, Bryars, The Third Programme, Late Junction, and BBC Radio 6 etc etc.
Basically I like much of the variety of contemporary music of the Modern Era and like to be inspired or surprised by it.I really enjoy live music performances, but Jazz is my main thing, along with contemporary organ music (live at Durham Cathedral) and the Unthanks.I’ve met people with similarly diverse tastes, and don’t worry too much about genres and where they belong. When I like it, I enjoy it !
Hobbies / interests include music, photography, real ales, walking, fresh air.
